You might be sitting on about $18,000 in buyer help and have no idea. Down Payment Resource just counted 2,833 homeownership programs across the country in its Q3 2026 report, a record high, and the average benefit works out to about $18,000 per buyer.
Most people rule themselves out before anyone checks. They assume this help is only for first-time buyers, or only for low incomes. The data says otherwise. More than a third of these programs are open to repeat buyers, and hundreds have no income cap at all.
Arizona has its own well-known programs, like HOME Plus and Home in Five, sitting inside that national count. Every program has its own rules, and the help has to pair correctly with your loan, your income, and the house itself. That is the part a quick Google search cannot do for you. Somebody actually has to run your file against the list.
So if you have been telling yourself you make too much, or you owned a home years ago, do not count yourself out. The money is there. The only question is whether any of it has your name on it.
It takes one text. I will check what you qualify for here in Arizona and tell you straight, even if the answer is not yet.
